The 2019 winner of the Greg Hildebrand Award announced!

St Mary’s Flexible Learning Centre from NSW were the successful recipients for their cycling program ‘On ya Bike’! 

The panel were unanimous in their decision to support St Mary’s in their program which is  aimed at purchasing a fleet of mountain bikes to encourage healthy activity connectedness to community and nature. In their decision, the panel agreed that outdoor activity such as bike riding is a great engagement tool for young people to bring them together, it has positive health benefits, and will bring a strong sense of teamwork and wellbeing as well as expanding their experiences of nature.

Of importance to the Award is the considered link between Greg Hildebrand’s story and the program. This was clear in St Mary’s application as they successfully harnessed Greg’s adventurous side and his connection with nature.

It is with much gratitude that the Foundation present this Award in Greg’s Honour each year and we thank Clive and Nita Hildebrand and their family from the very bottom of our hearts for their continued support, kindness and generosity! 

We cannot wait to see how this project develops over the next 12 months!

We had an overwhelming response to the Award this year and we thank Flexi for taking the time to apply – there were some very competitive applications and it made the selection panel work hard to come to a decision!
